Last month I had the privilege of photographing Yvonne and Michael’s fun-filled wedding in Lancashire.

Yvonne and Michael got married at the All Saint’s Church in Hesketh Bank  before traveling to their wedding reception at Farington Lodge Hotel in Preston, Lancashire.  Farington Lodge Hotel is one of my favourite wedding venues in the North West, not only is it spacious and picturesque inside but it has huge beautiful gardens which are perfect for wedding photographs.

This was such a relaxed wedding with great weather and everybody had an amazing day.  I was so pleased that Yvonne and Michael had the perfect wedding day.

Yvonne & Michael, thank you so much again for asking me to photograph your wedding for you.  With so much fun and laughter on the day you made my job extremely easy! I know you will enjoy a very happy long and happy life together

Earlier this week, I held a portrait photography session for two friends of mine, Katie & Dave.  We started off at Longford Park in Chorlton and moved on to take more photographs at Salford Quays near Manchester city centre.

I really enjoy these shoots as they are very relaxed (we just tend to wander round having a chat whilst I look for different locations for photos!) and I have the time to try and get quite creative and experiment with different ideas.  The two locations we went to were great too, I especially like Salford Quays as it is has some fantastic architecture and is usually quite quiet.

Some of my favourite photographs from the shoot are below.  The first half of the photographs were taken in Longford Park, with the second half all at Salford Quays.

I was pleased to see that some of my favourite photographs from a wedding I covered at the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park, Lancaster last year, have been published in the wedding section of the Lancashire Evening Post newspaper.

As a photographer it is always exciting to see my work published so I was really pleased that the newspaper chose to publish 3 of my photographs

A few weeks ago I photographed the wedding of my friends, Lai and Graham at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.

I love covering weddings for friends, it is a great privilege.  In fact I now can’t imagine attending a friend’s wedding if I wasn’t the photographer as I would just be itching to get the camera out all day..!

Brocket Hall, which is located on a golf course, is a fantastic wedding venue, surrounded by beautiful scenery.  Despite the weather forecast predicting rain, we were lucky to have perfect weather with the sun shining all day.  Great couple, lovely venue and perfect weather – what more could a wedding photographer ask for?

Lai looked stunning in her beautiful wedding dress and travelled to the ceremony in a golf buggy – how cool!  After the ceremony, Graham drove the three of us around the golf course on the golf buggy, stopping at the places I pointed out would be good locations for photographs, which was brilliant, if only I could do that at every wedding!

Lai and Graham – I loved covering your wedding for you and I am really pleased you are so happy with your photographs.  Thank you for being such fantastic models on the day – and for driving me around on the golf buggy!  It is a honour to have you both as friends and, knowing you both as I do, I know that you will have an extremely long and happy marriage together  See you both soon!  Neil

Here are my favourite wedding photographs from your day:

I recently received a new sample album pack from a from one of my favourite wedding album suppliers – and wow, I am very impressed!

As soon as I removed this wedding album from it’s box, it felt top quality. This particular album measures 12″ x 12″, contains 50 pages (although it is possible to include many more) and has a thick metal cover. The print quality of the album is excellent, although my favourite feature is the thick metallic pages which make up the wedding album itself. The metallic finish gives each page an ultra-glossy look which I really love – the photographs look really vibrant.  Having said that, pages can be printed with a matt finish should you prefer.

This album also has the option of a 8″ x 8″ parent album (the same album design only smaller and printed on printed paper as opposed to metallic paper) and also smaller guest albums which measures 4″ x 4″.

I will shortly be adapting my wedding packages to include this album as a standard as I am that impressed with it

To all my clients who have already booked me – when I next see you I will bring this album along so you can look at it in person.

Earlier this month I photographed Yelena and Jonathan’s beautiful wedding at Warrington Town Hall.

Despite the poor forecast the weather on the day couldn’t have been better, I don’t think the sun stopped shining the whole day and was nothing less than Yelena and Jonathan deserved.

This wedding was all the more exciting for me as it was my first wedding at Warrington Town Hall. The Town Hall is a really striking building set in it’s own grounds, it looks more like a stately house than a Town Hall. It is a very picturesque venue, especially the gates at the entrance which, as you will see below, we used in quite a few photographs.

Following the wedding ceremony and group photographs we headed off to the award winning Church Green restaurant in Lymm, Cheshire for the wedding reception.

Yelena and Jonathan – thank you once again for asking me to photograph your wedding for you. It was a real pleasure working with you both and I am so pleased that you are both so happy with your wedding photographs – although as you were both so relaxed and easy to work with, you made it easy for me! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together

Today, Michelle and I went for a walk at Dunham Massey, a beautiful National Trust estate in Cheshire which is home to lots of deer.

Whilst we were there a couple of stags had a fight.  On the one hand it was a privilege to see them battle but on the other it was quite sad to see as one of the stags got quite badly injured , I just hope he was ok.

I’ve photographed two amazing weddings in the past week, the first at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire and the second at Warrington Town Hall.  Both went really well and I can’t wait to to show the bride and grooms their photographs!  I’ll hopefully be posting some of my favourite photographs from these weddings to the blog soon so please watch this space!

Today though, Michelle and I went for a walk around Martin Mere Wetland Centre in Lancashire.  The centre is home to over 100 species of rare and endangered ducks, geese, swans, flamingos and otters.  It goes without saying that whilst we wandered around a took a few photographs, some of my favourites are below, hope you like them

All the photographs were taken on my new Nikon D700 DSLR, which I am absolutely loving so far!

Last month I covered a fantastic wedding at the beautiful Egypt Mill Hotel in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

The bride and groom, Lisa and John, are a really lovely couple and it was a pleasure to work with them. I had already took photographs of Lisa and John last year when we did an engagement shoot together in Williamson Park in Lancaster and I think that helped on the day as it meant that Lisa and John were both used to the way I work.

This was my first wedding of the year so I had a few more butterflies in the stomach than usual(!) but these soon went once I started working and the whole wedding day went exactly as planned.

To Lisa and John – thank you very much again for asking me to photograph your wedding. I’m really pleased that you are both so happy with your photographs – it was a pleasure taking them for you. I wish you both a very long and very happy marriage together

In September last year I photographed a family portrait shoot in Avenham Park in Preston, although I haven’t been able to show the photographs until now as they were used for a surprise Birthday present!

It was really nice to go to Avenham Park again as I lived in Preston for three happy years whilst studying for my degree at the University of Central Lancashire – including one year living on Avenham Street which is just off the park itself.

We had a lot of fun on the portrait shoot and I hope that comes across in the photographs
