Colshaw Hall wedding photography

Colshaw Hall is an absolutely fantastic wedding venue and I always love taking wedding photographs here. Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, it is one of the most glamorous and luxurious venues in county. It is no surprise that it is so popular with bride and grooms.

The Hall was built in 1903 and is grade II listed. As soon as you enter the estate and carry on down the drive, everything about Colshaw Hall is luxury. Within minutes of arriving here, you can’t help but be impressed.

Recent weddings I have photographed at Colshaw Hall:

Why I love Colshaw Hall

From a photography point of view, Colshaw Hall really is the perfect venue. It is incredibly photogenic inside and out, spacious, extremely well run and and couples have complete exclusivity of the whole estate on their special day.

What I love most about Colshaw Hall though is the variety to it. Each part of the wedding day can take place in a different part of this 300 acre country estate. This give photographs variety and and makes the whole experience extra special for bride and grooms.

For example, you can get ready in either in the house or the Irlam Lodge by the entrance. Ceremonies can be held either inside in The Stables or outside in Colshaw Hall’s stunning grounds. Wedding Breakfasts and receptions are held in the Peel Suite – an absolutely spectacular room with brilliant lighting which looks incredible. This is certainly not a venue where everything happens in the same place.

As well as this, the gardens are beautiful and perfect for photos. They are huge and again, extremely photogenic. I particularly love the lake, especially as the sun is setting. The photograph at the top of this page, with the bride and groom reflected in the water, was taken there and is one of my favourite images of the year.

I also love the fact that bride and grooms getting married at here have the whole venue to themselves on their wedding day, complete exclusivity.

“We’ve just gone through the photos & we are truly in awe of how brilliant they are. Without just saying this, we knew you were good, but the photographs are truly next level. They really capture the essence of our day – fun, romantic, touching & memorable. Thank you so much Neil, we love them.”

Wedding ceremonies in The Stables

At Colshaw Hall, couples have the option of holding their civil ceremony in a beautiful purpose built building called The Stables. It is such an awesome setting for a marriage and the perfect place to exchange rings and say your vows. Not only is is spacious and decorated perfectly with oak beams, but it has lovely light coming in through the windows on either side which is great for photography. After the ceremony and confetti outside, newlyweds then make their way over to the main house, followed by all their guests. I love the fact The Stables is on-site and close to the main building, meaning that everyone can walk back to the main hall following the ceremony. It brings a real sense of excitement to the day.
