I am SO excited to a NEW DATE for my announce my biggest, most information packed and exciting wedding photography workshop to date …SHINE. Three days of learning, shooting, laughing, editing and bonding.
Since my first solo workshops in 2016, I have hosted 50 workshops and I will be doing everything I can to make SHINE 6 the best one yet.
I will be joined at SHINE 6 by my incredibly talented partner Helen Williams. Not only is Helen a MagMod Ambassador and Co-Founder of Flash Masters, but she is one of the UK’s leading wedding photographers and educators. Helen has hosted many of her own workshops and she runs her own mentoring programme for wedding photographers. We will both be on hand for the whole three days and I promise we are open books – if you ever have a question I guarantee it will always be answered to the very best of our ability. We give you everything.
As well as covering natural light and posing, Helen and I will be covering all things off-camera flash from basic set-ups to how you can use flash to light the ceremony, group shots and creative portraits.
SHINE is different – three days, allowing me to cover so much more than I ever could in a single day. We will shoot long in to the night on day two (I think midnight is our record) but although it’s intense, it is fun too. I believe that when everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves, surrounded by photographers all sharing and supporting each other, that is when we are all in the best mindset to absorb information and learn.
This is the culmination of everything I have learnt from 20 years of wedding photography, 12 years of running workshops and 5 years of running a Patreon of over 200 wedding photographers. In these three days, I share with you EVERYTHING I know to help you become the best wedding photographer you can be.
This workshop is designed to help wedding photographers of all experience levels. We will cover mindset, approach, equipment, how to shoot creative and beautiful portraits (both in natural light and with off camera lighting), the fundamentals of how to light various parts of a wedding day (including group shots, speeches, reception and dancing) and how to edit the images we take on the workshop to give them impact. Plus watch me film a challenge video for YouTube (feel free to heckle!) I can’t wait.
SHINE is about friendships too – we will all learn and grow together, forging bonds which will last long after the workshop finishes.
We will arrive at the workshop venue from 3pm on Monday 27th April 2026, with SHINE officially starting at 5pm. Up until we all leave at 10am on Thursday, 30th April, we will laugh, grow and learn together.
Not only will you leave with amazing images, a mind full of inspiration and a fantastic experience, but with the confidence that you can take all that you have learned in to your next weddings.

THE VENUE
The workshop will be held at an exclusive country house in Llangollen in the North Wales countryside, on the banks of the River Dee.
Please note this is an Airbnb property – not a hotel.
Built in the late 19th century, the Victorian property is stunning, full of character and period features. It is incredible photogenic and spacious, making it the perfect location for portraits with both natural light and off camera flash – both of which will be covered on the workshop.
The venue contains 14 bedrooms – with every attendee having their own double bedroom – all included in the cost of the workshop. The property also has multiple bathrooms.
The venue is surrounded by beautiful grounds and gardens and there are lots of social areas throughout the property for when we are not working – including the stunning Billiard Room, containing a full size snooker table!
SHINE 6 is packed with even more shooting time than ever before. Do not forget your camera!

Why SHINE?
Your opportunity to shoot multiple models across 2 daysOne of the biggest things I dislike about how many wedding photography workshops, is the ratio of the number attendees to the number of models. This just isn’t fair and does not create a good learning environment.
SHINE will be limited to just 14 attendees and across the two days in which we will be shooting, we will have multiple models and we will split the group up, so group you are shooting within, we always be much smaller. On day 3, we will divide in to 3 working groups, so you will have a lot of time to shoot the models and practice.
This WILL NOT be a scrum for photographs.

A rough idea of the timetable - we will cover A LOT!
Day 1
- 15.00 - Arrive at the venue / welcome drinks - hopefully in the sun!
- 17.00 - Group introductions and time to SHINE!
- 18.30 - Setting up our cameras for natural light and off-camera flash
- 19.30 - Introduction to off-camera flash: using layers to fall in love with flash
- Pizza!
- 21.00 - Honest Q&A. Before SHINE we will invite you to submit questions which you would like Helen and I, and the group, to discuss. We will also provide an anonymous form before SHINE should you wish to ask your question anonymously.
Day 2
- 08.30 - Breakfast
- 09.30 - Shooting groups and ceremonies with flash with Helen
- 11.00 - Venue walk round with Neil, what to look for creative portraits + importance of moments
- 12.00 - Group spilts in to 2; half with Neil and half with Helen for natural light portrait session with models.

- 16.00 - Group splits in 2, half with Neil and half with Helen for Creative off-camera flash portrait session 1

Day 3

- Group splits in to 3 teams, with each team then having 90 minutes with our 3 different models (two couples and a bride). This is your chance to put in to practice what you have learned and have 1-1 shooting time with the models with zero pressure! Neil + Helen will be on hand the whole time to help and advise.

Some of the questions you may have...
What equipment should I bring?
You are welcome to use as much as you like but I would suggest one camera and a selection of lenses. Almost all the photographs I take on SHINE will be taken with a 16-35mm, 35mm and 85mm. As long as you use a Sony, Canon, Nikon or Fuji camera then you are welcome to use my flash triggers so you do not need to bring your own off camera flash equipment.
Can I use the photographs and video I take on the workshop?
Yes of course, if you click the shutter then they are your images and you are welcome to use them on your own social media.
Can I bring my own food and drink to the venue?
Yes! Although the majority of your food and drink is included, you are welcome to bring your own food - all I would ask is that you don't make a mess - which I know you won't! There is a large communal kitchen at the venue which you are welcome to use anytime.
How much food and drink is included?
Almost all! Breakfasts (bacon and sausage sandwiches, pastries and cereal) and hot lunches are included. On the Monday evening we will order lots of pizza in (included) and our meals on Tuesday and Wednesday evening will be included (details TBC) too. Please also bring your own snacks if you like to eat in-between meals. If you have a food allergy please ensure you let me know in advance and please advise on what I can get for you.
All soft drinks are included. A limited amount of alcohol is included per person but please feel free to bring your own too.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes! There is more than enough free parking at the venue for all attendees.
Will we be shooting outside?
Yes, the majority of our time will be spent inside but we will shoot outdoors too. However, please bear in mind that this is October in the UK so who knows what the weather will be like so please bring warm clothes for when we go outside.
Is SHINE about off-camera flash only?
No! SHINE is an all encompassing wedding photography workshop and as much as Helen and I will be teaching off camera flash, including our off camera flash set-ups for portraits, speeches, group shots, dancing and ceremony, much of the workshop will involve shooting in natural light.
Should I bring my laptop to the venue?
I would definitely recommend that you do - especially so that you can follow along with the live editing sessions. However, if you don't have one or would prefer not to bring your laptop that is no problem and you can simply watch the tutorials instead.
What time do we arrive and leave the venue?
Arrival is from 3pm on Monday, for a 5pm start, and we all need to leave the venue by 10am on Thursday.
Is the venue a wedding venue?
No, although I know the owners are interested in developing it in to a wedding venue in the future. Currently it is an Airbnb, so not an actual hotel.
Will I have to share a room with another attendee?
No, all attendees will have their own private double bedroom. However, bathrooms are shared. The property has 4.5 bathrooms.

Places on SHINE are available for an exclusive early bird price of £1095 to members of Flash Masters and my Patreon for 14 days.
This early bird price is made up of a booking fee (payable using the PayPal button below) of £495, with the remaining balance of £600 being due by bank transfer by 1st April 2026.
After the 14 days, I will share details of how to book with my mailing list. At that point a place on SHINE 6 will cost £1195.

Please note:
- All payments made are non-refundable. Places cannot be refunded but can be exchanged to another person.
- Places are available on a first come first served basis – places cannot be held or reserved with a booking fee payment.
- All attendees must adhere to the rules of the venue.
- We will be doing our best to cater food for the workshop ourselves – however if you have special and specific dietary requirements, I please ask that you let me know in advance and/or bring your own food to help me ensure you are comfortable.
- Parts of the workshop will be filmed and recorded for promotional purposes so I ask that you do not attend if you do not wish to be captured in behind the scenes video.
- All attendees must vacate the property by 10.00am on Day 4.
- This is a group workshop and all attendees must be respectful, courteous and considerate of each other. If any attendee demonstrates threatening, intimidating, rude or disrespectful behaviour they will be asked to leave the workshop. My decision is final.
