Wedding photographs from Hotel Kilkenny Ireland

Last month saw me photographing a Hotel Kilkenny wedding that I had been looking forward to for a very long, not only because the bride and groom, Caty and Paul, are one of the nicest couples I have ever met, but also because the wedding was in Kilkenny in Southern Ireland – very exciting!!

Destination wedding photography is so exciting, but it is also brings it’s own challenges, such as not being able to take all the equipment I would normally be able to take to a wedding due to luggage restrictions (very frustrating…!) and not having a car with the logistical problems that brings, but I really didn’t have to worry. Caty and Paul organised everything for all their guests.  All I needed to do was get on the plane in Manchester, everything else was taken care of – amazing!

Not only is Ireland such a beautiful country but the town where Caty & Paul got married, Kilkenny, is such a nice little town – so colourful and full of character.  I definitely plan to go back there in the future.

Creative Hotel Kilkenny wedding photographs

Caty and Paul got married in a beautiful church just outside of of the town.  Following the wedding ceremony, Caty, Paul and I went to the beautiful Kilkenny Castle.  Unfortunately the weather wasn’t really our friend that weekend but we got some really nice photographs outside the castle, including a couple which are amongst my all time favourites – so that take rain!

After the castle we headed back to Hotel Kilkenny for the rest of the day and what was an amazing party!  What a brilliant weekend it was 🙂

To Caty and Paul – firstly, thank you so much for asking me to be your destination wedding photographer, it was an absolute pleasure to travel to Ireland with you and capture what was such an incredible day.  Thank you also though for making everything so straightforward for me and organising absolutely everything, I will never know how you managed it but I will always be very grateful.

And thank you again for not only the present you gave me before you wedding but also the lovely thank you card – you really didn’t have to do any of that but it is very much appreciated.

I am just so pleased you are both so happy with your wedding photographs!  You put so much effort in to making your day perfect and I am so pleased for you both that it was just that – you deserved nothing less.  I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together x
