Leila and Stuart’s wedding at Manchester Museum was such a fantastic day. It was also the first wedding where I have photographed a bride and groom stood next to a Tyrannosaurus Rex!
I met up with Leila and Stuart a few days before their wedding to have a look around Whitworth Hall and Manchester Museum as I hadn’t been to either venue before for a wedding (I did have fond memories of visiting the museum as a child though!) and wow, what incredible venues they are! Whitworth Hall is absolutely spectacular in it’s size and architecture and the Museum is one of the most unique and interesting wedding venues I have ever worked at. Incredibly photogenic.
Both buildings are part of the University of Manchester, which is also where Leila and Stuart met, which made everything that little bit more personal and special.
The wedding ceremony and reception were held in Whitworth Hall, with the drinks reception and speeches taking place in Manchester Museum. Shortly after the speeches, which were all so heartfelt and full of emotion, the three of us went to say hello to Stan, Manchester Museum’s T-Rex, for some photographs. A really amazing sight.
The really great thing is that both venues are connected with Manchester Museum being just a minute’s walk down a corridor from Whitworth Hall. Both venues gave a really great contrast to the photographs and made Leila and Stuart’s special day particularly unique.
I spect the morning with Leila and her bridesmaids as they got ready together at her parent’s house. I knew from then that the wedding was going to be amazing because everyone was so relaxed and excited. A morning full of laughter is always the best way to start off a wedding day. The rest of the day was exactly the same and it was a pleasure to be a part of.
Thank you both so much again for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I loved being a part of your day and wish you both a very long and happy marriage together.
WOAH! Epic venue!!!!!
