I don’t even know where to start with this blog post, except to say that Olga and Tim’s Big fat Greek wedding was absolutely amazing. It was an absolute privilege to have been asked to fly to Greece and be their destination wedding photographer.
It’s impossible to convey how much I enjoyed the whole experience of being in Greece and photographing such an incredible day. Destination wedding photography is just so exciting!
Olga and Tim had thought of absolutely everything and looked after me so well during my week in Greece. In fact in many ways covering their wedding was logistically easier than most of the weddings I photograph because I was chauffeured everywhere! Greek weddings are very different to UK based weddings. Certainly more than I had thought they would be, and it was so exciting and enjoyable to learn about the different traditions and differences.
This was a wedding which was absolutely packed with energy, dancing (I have never been in a house where the bride was getting ready where there has been so much music, dancing and laughter – it was such an amazing atmosphere!), emotion, laughter …and more dancing!
Destination wedding photography in Greece
Olga and Tim got married in a beautiful church on the outskirts of Thessaloniki. A really lovely city on the Greek mainland. With the wedding reception taking place at the Polis Convention Centre – again a stunning venue with amazing view across the city.
The whole wedding reception was outside (it goes without saying that the weather was amazing!) and the party carried on until about 4am. It was absolutely brilliant! I also loved the fact that Tim wouldn’t let me take photographs past a certain point unless I was drinking too!
As the wedding ceremony took place at 8pm and as it was almost dark by the time we left the church, I also took photographs of Olga and Tim a couple of days after their wedding around the harbour of Thessaloniki and also the beach, which was great fun!
To Olga and Tim – thank you so much for not only asking me to be your wedding photographer, but also for being so incredibly kind and helpful both before the wedding and whilst we were in Greece. You made everything so easy for me and I am really grateful. Not only was your wedding absolutely amazing (I won’t be able to listen to Common People in the same way again!), but the whole experience was just incredible. Thank you both very much and I wish you both all the very best for your future together x
Here are some of my favourite photographs from your incredible wedding in Greece 🙂
A couple of days after Olga and Tim’s wedding, we met up again to take some photographs of them both around Thessaloniki but spending the night drinking on the beach 🙂

Neil these are amazing!! The wedding is all so vibrant and fresh looking, and your lighting skills are shown off beautifully, especially in such difficult circumstances as shooting a wedding at night!
