Wedding photographs from Portmeirion in Wales
I recently had the huge pleasure of photographing Kerrie and Oli’s beautiful wedding at Portmeirion and what a fantastic day it was!
Portmeirion Village is such a brilliant wedding venue, it is so quirky and unique and totally unlike any other wedding venue I know. It’s almost as if you’re in a little town in Italy rather than in North Wales(!) and is famous for being the setting for the 1960’s television series ‘The Prisioner’. It is so photogenic, I could literally spend all day photographing a bride and groom there and never run out of ideas. I just love it.
Kerrie and Oli’s day was perfect from beginning to end, such an amazing couple, and even though the wind did try to spoil it (at one point Kerrie’s veil blew off!) nothing to could stop them both from smiling all day π
To Kerrie and Oli – thank you so much again for asking me to photograph your wedding in Portmeirion Village. It was so great to be a part of your incredible day and thank you for all your lovely kind words about your photographs. I wish you both a very long and happy future together, which I know it will be!
A huge thank you to Kerrie and Oli for sharing their wedding story too π
How did you both meet?
We met at the coffee machine where we both worked, after which I found out Oli had been secretly stalking me for a number of months!
What was the proposal like?
A cliff top overlooking one of our favourite bays in Cornwall.
How did you find wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?
Become a spreadsheet bride, even when you want to keep things simple there is still a lot to arrange and keep track of. Portmeirion is a beautiful place to get married andΒ Delyth is fantastic! They made sure our day was perfect. Neil went the extra mile, all of our photos are amazing and and will serve as a timeless reminder of the best day of our lives.
Why did you choose Portmeirion as your wedding venue?
For our love of Italy but wanting to be married in the U.K with all our friends and family. Portmeirion is a magical place and great for photographs!
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
After the ceremony itself it was the speeches, actually the evening party, actually… The whole day was fantastic, we couldn’t pick.
Gorgeous images Neil. The portraits of the Bride and Groom are just beautiful, filled with emotion and colour.
Their story is just the cutest! π xx
This is just utterly beautiful work Neil. And wow, Portmeirion looks like an amazing place!!
